Remember
that different stain cleaners are specific
to certain types of stains. So before
you buy, or use it, remember to read the
full description.
For Semi-solids, the procedure is much
the same, with the exception that you
need to remove as much of the material
as possible with a spoon first.
For solid residue, vacuum the are after
breaking up the solid as much as possible.
Then rinse with cold water, and blot dry.
An alternative for both dry and wet stains,
is to first vacuum the area to get whatever
you can out first, then rinse and vacuum
again. Some feel that this is more efficient
that blotting dry.
Quickly drying out the carpet is important,
as it can help prevent the spread of stains
that are at the bottom, to the top. You
can use a bunch of paper napkins, and
have a heavy object press down on it to
facilitate drying.
If you feel you need more help to remove
difficult stains like Acid, Urine, Dye,
or even burn marks, take the advice of
a professional rather than risk ruining
the carpet.
